As Colorado’s radical new gun ban leaves firearm and ammo manufacturers reeling, Montana’s governor just threw them a lifeline — and an open invitation to return to real American values.
In a new video, Gov. Greg Gianforte called out Colorado’s assault on the Second Amendment after Democrat Gov. Jared Polis signed one of the most extreme anti-gun laws in U.S. history. The legislation bans the manufacturing and sale of semi-automatic firearms — a direct attack not just on personal freedom, but on one of the nation’s largest gun industries.
“Last week, the Democrat governor of Colorado signed into law one of the most restrictive gun bans ever adopted in the United States,” Gianforte said. “This is on top of their already crazy ban on high-capacity magazines. It’s just nuts.”
Gianforte didn’t mince words: Colorado has turned its back on the Constitution. But Montana, he made clear, is a proud defender of the Second Amendment — and it’s open for business.
“If you needed another sign that Democrat governors are out of touch with reality, here it is,” Gianforte added. “To all gun manufacturers in Colorado, my question is simple: Do you want to move back to America?”
He pointed to Montana’s proven track record: more than 150 firearms and ammunition manufacturers call the Treasure State home, the highest number per capita in the country. With constitutional carry, protections against anti-gun discrimination, and a government that actually respects freedom, Montana offers everything gunmakers need to thrive.
“Montana embraces freedom and the free enterprise system,” Gianforte said. “Come on home to America. Right here in Montana.”
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Gianforte tore into Colorado’s new law, saying it’s a blatant violation of the Bill of Rights.
“Our Second Amendment is very clear,” he said. “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. This new law bans some of the most popular firearms Americans use for sporting, hunting, and self-defense. It’s unconstitutional, plain and simple.”
And Gianforte isn’t just talking — he’s taking action. After releasing the video, the governor personally cold-called six Colorado firearms companies to extend an invitation. So far, five are already planning trips to Montana to explore relocating.
“My message to them was simple,” Gianforte said. “‘See what’s happening in Colorado? Move back to America — Montana is open for business, and we’d be proud to have you.’”
Once again, Montana is proving it stands on the side of freedom — and the Second Amendment.
